If I could summarize July in three phrases, it would be this: heat wave, Hot Cheetos, and holy moments!
Despite the Texas heat, we’ve stayed cool with hundreds of water balloons, countless popsicles, and even more laughter. Our volunteers and kids have had an incredible summer together!
One of the highlights of the month was walking through both Madison Park and Cameron Court with teams of volunteers. Together, we knocked on every door, invited families to Kids’ Club, listened as neighbors shared their stories, and had the privilege of praying with hundreds of people. Those evenings were powerful, and we’re already seeing the fruit. So many new faces have joined us at Kids’ Club—families we may never have met if we hadn’t simply knocked on their door.
July reminded me how grateful I am for our partners. The City Church generously sponsored every backpack for our Back-to-School outreach and provided the resources to host our Summer’s Last Blast celebrations. Incoming 6th graders also packed all of our backpacks! Their faithful generosity—both financially and through volunteers—has been such a blessing to our ministry.
I also had the opportunity to experience my very first Camp Awesome, and the name says it all! I loved spending the week with my group of girls. They may love Hot Cheetos, but I love them even more! I’m already praying and dreaming about what Camp Awesome could look like for our Lubbock kids in 2027.
It’s hard to believe school starts on August 12. As this new season begins, would you join us in praying for the children we serve? Pray that they would come to know Jesus personally and discover the incredible truth of who He says they are. Thank you for being part of what God is doing in Lubbock.
