We made it through one of our most favorite – and hectic – times of the year! Christmas season is always special for Mission 2540. We kicked things off with the Sharing Tree Christmas store, our annual partnership with Hillside Church. 330 families were able to shop for presents for their kids for just $5 per child (or 5 cans of food). over 1100 kids will received wrapped, carefully chosen presents from their parents this year. This makes such a significant impact on the lives of so many. It’s a special event we love to be a part of. It gives our families dignity and ownership of the presents they provide their children.
This week, we held Christmas parties on all 11 of our properties. Over 260 kids came, heard the Christmas story, ate thousands of chicken nuggets and hundred of cookies, and received an awesome goodie bags filled with toys, Christmas candy, and hats and gloves. This is the most kids we’ve ever had, and it was an incredible week full of controlled chaos and happy kids! There’s no better way to spend the holiday season. Look through the pictures below while we head to take a much needed long winter’s nap!
