We spend the several days of July at our annual Camp Awesome, the highlight of the year for so many of our kids. We took a total of 52 campers and leaders to Hidden Falls Ranch for an extremely hot yet also extremely awesome time of camp. We swam, hiked, climbed, raced go carts and so much more.
Camp Awesome is so much more than a 3 day retreat for our kids. For most of them, it’s the only time all summer they’ll leave the city limits. For several, it’s the first time they’ll ever spend the night away from their mom. It’s a chance to learn independence, how to do hard things, to meet new people, and to grow in understanding of how valued and loved they are by their Creator. Camp Awesome is such a powerful time and so full of life-long memories for our kids that it makes the 104 degree heat totally worth it!

It may be the most special part of Camp Awesome. Ishimwe, on the right, was a part of the very first Camp Awesome 15 years ago!
